We are a dedicated group of judo enthusiasts who thrive on the mats during the Fall and Spring semesters. Our practice sessions are held Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1600-1730 in the Combatives Room. Beyond our regular practices, we actively engage with local judo academies in the Colorado Springs and Denver areas for "fight nights" and competitive practices, continuously refining our techniques and honing our skills. Additionally, we foster collaboration by occasionally joining forces with the USAFA Combatives Club, where we share and learn grappling skill sets to enrich our judo experience.
Competing is ingrained in our club culture, and we take pride in representing our institution in regional judo competitions throughout the year. Notably, our recent participation in the 2023 Denver Classic and the 2023 Colorado Judo Open Championship yielded impressive results, with at least six members securing medals. What's more, three of them showcased their prowess by double-placing in both novice and advanced (black belt level) divisions. We're gearing up for the National College Judo Association 2024 Championship at Texas A&M, where we aim to continue our tradition of excellence and sportsmanship.
