Public and private funding bolsters academic excellence at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Donations to the Dean's Fund support the academic mission element, elevating the cadet experience. Programs that benefit from private support include:
Academic Success Center
Private support funds several cadet services in the Academic Success Center, including the Quantitative Reasoning Center, the Writing Center and the Public Speaking Lab. Donor contributions help facilitate workshops and increase the number of group and individual cadet consultation sessions. Philanthropy also provides extended evening hours to allow cadets additional opportunities to visit the ASC outside their busy morning and afternoon schedules.
Academic Enrichment Programs
Private support is the backbone of many Academic Enrichment Programs. These include the Dean's Summer Research Program, the Leader-Scholar program, study abroad and exchange programs, internships, K-12 outreach programs, and many cadet clubs such as rocketry, robotics, mock trial and forensics. Contributions go toward travel costs, equipment, faculty support and more.
Graduate School Program
Private philanthropy allows newly commissioned second lieutenants to build on their USAFA education and enhance their careers by attending elite institutions in their respective disciplines. Contributions go toward closing the gap between the annual tuition cap for the Graduate School Program and the tuition cost for top-tier institutions.
