Our 10-year reunion is quickly approaching, and we want to do something as a class that will help foster strong mental health enhancing the cadet experience and the Whole Airmen concept by supporting the Peak Performance Center (PPC). Class of ’13, we are asking you to make a gift to help support the future leaders that are following in our footsteps.
You may recall from our first giving campaign, charitable contributions to the Air Force Academy Foundation supported us while we were at the Academy 10 years ago. When we were cadets, private funding went toward programs and services that were not covered by government funding, and this continues to be the case today.
Our focus, the PEAK PERFORMANCE CENTER (PPC), is the primary mental health resource for cadets. It provides short-term counseling, outreach, prevention, and education initiatives throughout the Cadet Wing to maximize performance in the psychological, academic, social and physical aspects of cadet life. PPC enhances wellness and resilience and normalizes healthy and help-seeking practices for future Air Force leaders. Primary initiatives focuses on the prevention of suicide, alcohol/substance abuse, sexual assault, as well as improving stress management and increasing resiliency. Other initiatives include healthy eating and eating disorder awareness, grief support, anger management and other just-in-time initiatives.
As we rocked over 18% participation at our first giving campaign, let’s aim to double that participation rate to 36% class participation. Participation is easy – we ask that you participate at any amount! That’s it! Our collective support will continue to provide world-class leadership, academic, athletic, and military opportunities for our brothers and sisters at our Academy.
Please consider supporting the cadets at the Academy by making any gift at any level. We have the chance to leave our mark – make a gift today.
Thank you for your consideration.
