For its 35th reunion project, the Class of ‘86 has elected to support the Benjamin O. Davis Airfield Static Display project.
The project will help to provide funds for P-51 Red Tail and T-7 Red Hawk full scale/1:1 models at the entrance to Davis Airfield, to include the associated landscaping, and historical markers describing the significance of each aircraft to the Department of the Air Force and to the mission of the United States Air Force Academy. The aircraft display will complement the B-52 static display and Air Warrior Combat Memorial located in close proximity to the North Gate.
The Class of '86's original goal is $500,000, but they hope to exceed that goal. They will be raising funds along side the Classes of 1990 & 1996, as well as individual donors, to raise $1.5M for the overall project. The Class of 1986 will be recognized for their fundraising efforts as a class at the proposed site, and individual donors of $10,000 or more will receive individual recognition at the site.
Cadet development is grounded in the cadet experience (military, academic, athletic and the airmanship). Foundational to the cadet experience are the Cadet Honor Code and the Air Force Core Values. The Tuskegee Airmen embody and reflect all that Department of the Air Force holds dear, Integrity, Service and Excellence, what we expect of all Airman and Guardians and cadets. Generations of USAFA Cadets, past, present and future, will forever be linked to the proud, barrier breaking, honorable and courageous legacy of the Tuskegee Airman.
