Freestyle Ski Club

At the U.S. Air Force Academy, 25 dedicated cadets have the unique opportunity to compete in freestyle skiing amidst the stunning Rocky Mountains, seamlessly integrating with USAFA’s core values of Integrity, Service, and Excellence. Engaging in this demanding sport, these cadets cultivate leadership, resilience, and teamwork—essential traits for their future roles as Air Force and Space Force officers. Each practice and competition hones their strategic thinking and physical endurance, mirroring the challenges they will face in their military careers.

By supporting the USAFA Freestyle Skiing Team, you are fostering athletic excellence and contributing to the development of our nation's future leaders. Your donation will help provide the necessary equipment, travel expenses, and training opportunities, ensuring these cadets can continue to excel on the slopes and in service to our country. Their budget is limited, so cadets must rely on personal vehicles and incur travel expenses. Private support can alleviate these financial constraints to empower cadets to focus entirely on their performance and development.

The USAFA Freestyle Team provides a competitive outlet unlike any other at the Academy. This year, 20 cadets traveled and developed their skills in the Rocky Mountains. Cadets in the program self-fund all equipment, gear, maintenance and tuning, lodging, and miscellaneous fees, averaging over $2,000 per person per season.

When you support the USAFA Freestyle Team, you are helping them travel to the International Freeskier and Snowboarder Association tournaments in the Rockies region. This year’s team is poised to send 4-8 cadets to compete, with the other 20 cadets continuing to develop their skills to reach the competition level. Your donation will help cover gear, tuning, entry and lodging fees.
