Men's Rugby Leadership Initiative (RLI)

The USAFA Men's Rugby RLI is a bi-annual trip to an allied country. The team plays an Air Force Academy equivalent team, local college, or military team and gains exposure to the host country's military and culture. Prior RLIs have taken the team to New Zealand, England, and France, where the Zoomies triumphed against all three host military Academies.

This year's RLI will take the team to Italy, providing a unique opportunity to engage with and learn more about the Italian military while also exploring the region's rich history and culture.

The stress and physicality of rugby are the hammers that forge the mind and spirit to excel in the profession of arms. We embrace this environment as a team and as individuals. Knowing the physical and mental challenges on the fields of play, these difficulties are vital in preparing us for the journey ahead as USAF Officers.

During past trips, we have impressed upon New Zealand, France, and the United Kingdom's top officials the quality of men this club develops and sends into the USAF.
