Hosted by Rooted Within, this six-day/five-night in-person retreat is for graduates of military service academies who are survivors of sexual assault.
Each of the academies is allocated six participants. Between USAFA women, ZASA supporters and the AOG, we are anticipating supporting five USAFA graduates. Our goal is to raise an additional $4,800 to support lodging, fees and travel for a sixth survivor.
This retreat creates opportunities for trauma recovery and connection with other participants, while helping graduate survivors heal, thrive and reach their full potential.
The retreat includes:
• A powerful recovery process that moves participants forward in their healing and allows them to live their lives more fully
• Controlled progressive exercises
• Opportunities to build connections within a community
• Psychoeducation on the neurobiology of trauma
• Self-regulation skills
• Relaxation techniques
• Alternative healing modalities
• Small group supportive activities
• Communication skills practice
• Safe group & individual experiences
• Opportunities for lightness, joy and a sense of play
• Self-care and positive self-talk
