About

Court of Inspiration

Honoring the past, celebrating the future.

A Tribute on the Heritage Trail

The Court of Inspiration will honor the 50th anniversary of women at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Located on the Doolittle Campus, it will be a place of commemoration, recognition and inspiration.

This historical marker honors the legacy of USAFA women by celebrating trailblazers, recognizing contributions and affirming the service and excellence that bind the Long Blue Line.

Three Defining Elements

  • Passing the Hat statue: In the center of the court, a cadet passes her graduation hat to a young girl.
  • Circle of Firsts: Panels honor pioneering USAFA women, each sharing a personal message with words of inspiration to her younger self or any aspiring cadet.
  • Wall of Excellence: Recognizing the achievements of USAFA women across generations, the wall defines the garden’s edge along the Heritage Trail, embracing the Colorado mountain landscape to create a place of honor and reflection.

Be Part of the Legacy

The U.S. Air Force Academy Association & Foundation is working with USAFA Women to raise $2.1 million to build and maintain the Court of Inspiration as an enduring legacy for the Academy community. Any additional funds contributed will support the Hosmer Visitor Center, designed to honor the Academy’s history.

We invite graduates, families and friends to join the Court of Inspiration giving campaign in honoring the past, present and future women of USAFA.
