About

It has been more than 51 years since we entered the Academy! Looking ahead to our 50th Reunion of the USAFA Class of 1974, we are proud to share our Class of 1974 50th Reunion Gift: The Class of 1974 Forevermore Overlook.

Our gift will establish a series of seating-and-gathering areas for cadets only along a pathway on the hill between the Chapel, Sijan Hall and the Barry Goldwater Visitor Center. The Overlook incorporates four locations that cadets can utilize for personal reflection, for group conversations or to just get away. Each location is designed to take full advantage of the beautiful landscape and stellar views. In essence the Class of 1974 Overlook will become a place of contemplation where cadets can read, think and imagine their future—without venturing far from the cadet area.

Some of our classmates met with a group of cadets, took them on a walk up the hill and showed how the project will look—every one of the cadets were 100% enthused. The Class of 1974 Forevermore Overlook is our class’ gift to cadets who will follow in our shoes for generations to come.

This project is approved by the Academy Facilities Board. The estimated cost is $1 million. ’74 will fund the Overlook with our donations and will present The Class of 1974 Forevermore Overlook to the Academy at our 50th Reunion in the fall of 2024. Gifts can be spread over four years.
